Manufacturing and installation

Our factory sits on the outskirts of Leeds city centre, on the site of the former Fowler engine works, where HB has been located since it was established. HB Aluminium systems are fabricated there and installed by our own site teams.

The factory

Over the years the factory has been improved and new machinery added, so it is well equipped to fabricate aluminium windows and doors for commercial projects. Fabricated using Kestrel and Novastruct aluminium systems.

Fabricating in-house lets us control the preparation of frames before they leave for site and respond to changes agreed with the project team.

Some of the workforce have been with HB since leaving school, and many have been with the business for over 20 years.

The site teams

Our fixing teams include experienced foremen and fixers, equipped with the training and tools they need for efficient site installation.

Because the fabricators and fixers work for the same business, site issues and client instructions can be dealt with directly rather than passed between companies. Fabrication and installation are separate stages carried out by the relevant teams.

Drawings, specification and site information are reviewed, and gaps or assumptions are identified.

Estimate
The agreed scope is priced. Design responsibility follows whatever is set out for the project.

Fabrication
Agreed systems are fabricated in our Leeds factory by our own fabricators.

Installation
Our directly employed fixing teams install the work on site.
