Aluminium windows and doors
We supply and install aluminium windows, doors and internal screens for schools, healthcare buildings, shops, restaurants and offices. Frames are fabricated in our Leeds workshop and fitted by our own installers, for new builds as well as replacement and refurbishment.

In short
HB Aluminium supplies and installs commercial aluminium windows, doors, bifolds and internal screens for new-build, replacement and refurbishment projects. Everything is fabricated in Leeds and fitted by our own teams.
What we offer
Aluminium is strong, slim and long-lasting, which makes it a good fit for commercial and public buildings.
- Windows, entrance doors, bifold doors and internal screens
- Powder-coated finishes through our coating partner, Swallow Coatings
- Replacement and refurbishment as well as new builds
Start with how the building is used
An office, a school, a care setting and a warehouse place very different demands on windows. Occupancy affects opening restrictions, cleaning, security at ground level and how much disruption is acceptable during works. Telling us how the building is used is often more useful at the start than a product name.
Opening arrangements and ventilation
Windows may be fixed, side hung, top hung, tilt-turn or parallel opening, and each has implications for ventilation, cleaning access and safety. Where ventilation is part of the building's strategy, the design team will normally set the free area or opening requirements, and the window arrangement has to meet them.
Restrictors, handle heights and opening directions should be considered alongside the room layouts behind the windows.
Refurbishment and replacement
On replacement work the condition of the existing opening matters as much as the new window. Surveys establish sizes, the state of the surrounding structure, how the existing frames are fixed and how the new windows will tie into the wall's insulation and weather line.
If the building stays occupied, works are usually phased room by room or floor by floor. Access, protection, noise and working hours are agreed before the programme is set.
Performance requirements
Thermal performance, acoustic insulation, safety glazing, security and fire strategy requirements vary between projects and come from the specification, the design team and the applicable regulations. We review these as part of estimating rather than quoting a single standard product.
General guidance. Specific systems, performance and test evidence are confirmed for each project.

Questions and answers
Can windows be replaced while the building is in use?
Often, yes, with phasing agreed in advance. Whether it is practical depends on the building, the scope and the occupants, so it is something we plan with you before work is agreed.
Do we need a survey before you can price?
A budget can sometimes be given from drawings or a schedule. Replacement work normally needs a survey before final sizes and prices are confirmed.
Can you match existing windows elsewhere on the building?
Send photographs and any details of the existing windows. We can then discuss how closely the appearance can be matched.
