In short
HB Aluminium fabricates and installs aluminium entrance systems for shops, offices, schools and public buildings, from single doors to full glazed entrance screens. Where automation is needed, it is supplied and fitted by Record Auto Doors and coordinated by HB.
Traffic and use
A supermarket entrance, an office reception and a community building see very different numbers of people and patterns of use. Footfall affects the choice of door type, hinges or pivots, closers and hardware, and how quickly components wear. Knowing how the entrance is used is the first step to an appropriate design.
Accessibility
Entrances need to be usable by everyone. Clear opening width, level or low thresholds, opening forces, door ironmongery and glass manifestation all matter. Requirements come from the applicable regulations and the project's access strategy, and they are confirmed at design stage.
Configuration
Entrances may be single or double doors, set within a glazed screen, or form part of a lobby with inner and outer doors. Automatic operation, fire strategy and security requirements are specified for each project. We do not assume a particular certified product unless it is part of the confirmed specification.
Coordination with the building
The entrance meets floor finishes, drainage, canopies, access control, alarms and the surrounding shopfront or curtain walling. These interfaces are agreed with the main contractor and other trades so the entrance can be installed and commissioned without gaps in responsibility.

Questions and answers
Can you replace an entrance within existing glazing?
Often. It depends on the condition and construction of the surrounding frame. Photographs and a short description of the problem are the best starting point.
Do you supply automatic doors?
Yes, as part of our package. The automation is supplied and fitted by Record Auto Doors, and we coordinate it with the aluminium framing we make and install.
Should a failing entrance be repaired or replaced?
If the frame is sound, repair may be enough. Repeated failures or worn frames can make replacement the better option. Our repairs and maintenance page explains what to send.
